1. Not Confirming the Fare in Advance
This is the most common mistake. Always get the total fare confirmed during booking. Ask about base fare, toll charges, parking fees, and driver allowance for overnight trips. At Aryan Cabs, we confirm the full fare during the booking call. Visit our packages page for fare information.
2. Choosing the Wrong Vehicle
A sedan works for short trips with 3 passengers. For ghat roads or long drives (Coorg, Ooty, Wayanad), an SUV or Innova is recommended. See our fleet page for available vehicles.
3. Booking at the Last Minute
While same-day bookings are possible, booking at least 24 hours in advance gives you better vehicle choice and confirmed fares. During peak season (weekends, holidays), book 2-3 days ahead.
4. Ignoring Driver Allowance
For one-way trips longer than 250 km, the driver typically needs overnight accommodation or a return allowance. This is standard practice and should be confirmed during booking.
5. Not Checking the Route
Check the route before booking. Some routes have ghat sections requiring larger vehicles. Others have toll roads that add to the fare. Discuss your preferred route during booking.
6. Overlooking Cancellation Policy
Understand the cancellation policy before booking. Most providers charge a fee if cancelled within a few hours of pickup. Ask about this during the booking call.
7. Not Comparing One-Way vs Round-Trip
A one-way cab is ideal when returning by train or flight. But if you need the cab throughout for local travel, a round-trip is more practical. Compare your needs before deciding. See our packages page for both options.
